For over thirty years, Bill Wood's business was documenting and celebrating the lives of upwardly mobile residents of Fort Worth, Texas. Wood (1912-1973) photographed people and pets, community gatherings and ground-breaking ceremonies, automobile showrooms and funeral parlors under the auspices of the Bill Wood Photo Co. Over a lifetime, Wood produced thousands of subtle images that reveal the values & forces that drove Fort Worth's economic transformation in the years following WWII. This exhibition catalogue presents some 300 images from the Keaton-owned archive, culled from some 20,000 negatives donated to ICP (exhibit: summer 2008).
